About
The Academy is an urban summer camp for creative teens. We create a space where participants can turn their creative ambitions into real projects of their own. Our motto is learning by doing: no boring theory, and a strong focus on each student’s interests.
As part of the program, participants choose a Club, though they are never limited by it. They come up with their own project idea and work toward making it real. That project might be a film, a comic, a series of TikTok videos, a performance or show, an online course, or even a book.
NeverMost Academy Director
The director of NeverMost Academy is Yulia Chernenko, teacher and creative curator.
Stories have fascinated me for as long as I can remember, so deeply that I completed a PhD focused on storytelling.
After earning my degree, I taught dramatic writing at the Faculty of Creative Industries at the Higher School of Economics, where I helped students create their own stories as a consultant and mentor, from short fiction to audio series and video games.
Storytelling is a skill that can benefit a young adult in any field. It develops imagination, public speaking, critical thinking, and the ability to express ideas through creativity.
How the Academy Runs
Before the session begins, participants are invited to fill out a short application and share their interests. The Director gets to know each student through these applications and through personal conversations on the first day. On the third day of the Academy, each participant receives a personalized quest list based on their interests, goals, and ambitions.
Each day at the Academy includes a group session focused on soft skills, lunch, and team-based project work for everyone. After the group session, participants have time for independent creative work, completing quests, and preparing their final project.
The Academy will also feature two special events:
The Poe Cup
A team quest-style competition inspired by Edgar Allan Poe
Parents’ Weekend
A special day when parents are invited to the Academy. On this day, students present their team projects.
We want the camp to stay flexible and adapt to each participant’s interests and abilities. We also offer special rates for siblings attending the camp together, as well as for children who would like to join for the full week.
